Our next chapter. In case you missed our live broadcast, here are the five things you should know about our business update.

1. Polestar 7 (a premium compact SUV) is on the way

Polestar announced that Polestar 7 will be a premium compact SUV. With that, Polestar is entering the world’s fastest-growing and most profitable premium segment. With its growing portfolio, Polestar reaffirms its position as a truly global, premium EV brand. “Polestar is known for its progressive design, with each car standing out and creating its own buzz – so too will Polestar 7. It is incredibly exciting to bring Polestar’s design ethos to a new segment. Polestar 7 will be everything our customers expect from us, both in terms of design and performance," says Philipp Römers, Head of Design at Polestar. Polestar 7 is planned to be manufactured in Europe. With production already in place in the USA, South Korea, and China, Polestar continues to strengthen its global position with a well-balanced international production network.

2. A growing retail footprint

If you've ever been inside one of our award-winning Polestar Spaces, you'll know it's not your normal car showroom. Each Space is a carefully sculpted representation of our design philosophy writ large in steel and concrete. By 2026, we plan to increase our retail footprint by 75% from 106 to 187 locations.  "You can already see that the orders are taking off," comments Kristian Elvefors, Chief Commercial Officer at Polestar, citing recent retail sales figures of 12,256 cars in Q4 2024, a 5.3% increase compared to Q4 2023.

3. New customer offer: Polestar launches innovative energy business

Want to know how your Polestar can save you money? Polestar is launching “Polestar Energy” in eleven key markets in Europe (UK, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland), with the service launching in more markets throughout the year.

This new customer offer makes home charging smarter, more efficient, and cheaper. Through the service, customers can reduce their home charging costs by up to 30%, using the Polestar Energy app. The more Polestar customers charge and support the grid through Polestar Energy, the more benefits they get. The service will be launched in several additional markets during the second half of the year, with the launch of bidirectional charging capabilities in Polestar’s line-up making the offer even more attractive.

"I'm hopeful that Polestar Energy becomes another important pillar of our business," remarks Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO.

4. Additional revenue streams: Increasing sales of CO2 credits

Moving forward, Polestar expects significantly increased revenue contribution from the sales of CO2 credits. With traditional OEMs struggling to transition to EVs, the demand for these credits is expected to increase in the coming years, to a three-digit million-dollar amount per year, from 2025. Polestar has already created an EU CO2 pool with four OEMs for 2025.

5. Vive la France!

We're already on the roads in 27 markets worldwide, but this year, we're adding one more. 2025 marks the beginning of our French adventure, with Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and Polestar 4 available to drivers in one of Europe's fastest-growing EV markets later this year. "2025 is all about the introduction of France," Lohscheller says of our market expansion plans. "We at Polestar understand Europe very well. Of course, we have the existing car lines, which are very well suited for France."

From new markets and products to more money in your pocket, we think the next chapter of the Polestar story is going to be an exciting journey. Are you joining us for the ride?
