Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022

We’re back at the world-famous Goodwood Festival of Speed. Running up that hill, as Kate Bush put it. The hill being the iconic Goodwood hill. And the car being the never-before-seen Polestar 5 prototype.

Car on track.

In our “Polestar Precept: From Concept to Car” docu-series, we’ve shown how an idea comes to life. We’ve pulled back the curtain, from sketch to full-scale clay model. Offered a glimpse of the unorthodox sources of inspiration for its exterior. Demonstrated how a limited interior space can spark creative solutions. Breezed through the workings of its aerodynamic optimisation. And offered insight into the unconventional ways of finding more sustainable interior materials. And we’ll keep offering those never-before-seen moments as it progresses from concept into car. From Polestar Precept into Polestar 5.  At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the public will get a first glance at the Polestar 5 prototype in motion. Seeing it move from the First Glance Paddock, then up the iconic Goodwood hill. “Goodwood is our favourite place to show our cars in an enthusiast environment,” comments Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath. “This year, we are thrilled to showcase Polestar 5 going up the hill! Our UK R&D team is doing an amazing job developing the car, and we are proud to be able to highlight their hard work at this early stage.”When it’s not running up the hill, the Polestar 5 prototype will be stationed in the First Glance Paddock, alongside the limited-edition Polestar 1 and the Experimental Polestar 2.Further debuts include a first UK appearance for Polestar’s electric roadster concept, and the global debut of the new Polestar 2 BST edition 270, which was inspired by the Experimental car shown at last year’s event.Polestar Precept, the concept car evolving into Polestar 5, will also be returning to Goodwood this year, displayed at the main Polestar stand. The updated Polestar 2 will be positioned in Electric Avenue. And for visitors that feel the need for speed, the Polestar 2 will be available for closed route test drives at Molecomb. Slots can be booked there and then. The Goodwood Festival of Speed has a special place in our hearts, as it challenges us to push our limits, year after year. To perform better, to improve handling, to keep climbing that hill. And just like Kate Bush’s ‘80s hit, we are back. Ready to celebrate the future of car culture.
