Luxury travel, sustainable stays: Polestar takes up residency at W Brisbane

Perched together at the intersection of style and sustainability, Polestar has partnered with renowned luxury hotel W Brisbane. The first of three W Hotels to open in Australia, W Brisbane’s mantra of travelling in style is just one of the many common threads weaved throughout the two companies.

Together, we aim to offer W Brisbane guests access to exciting brand activations while also showcasing the advantages of travelling electric with Polestar 2.
Jonathan Williams, Head of Marketing at Polestar Australia

Now a mainstay of Brisbane’s Southbank precinct, W Brisbane launched to the public back in 2018. Sitting in prime position at the doorstep to some of the city’s best cafes, restaurants and nightlife, the hotel has cemented itself as one of the city’s premier stays.

But it’s not just about the location.

Inside, the hotel is a tapestry of bold, striking design. Walls adorned with colourful murals are complemented by curated lighting, chic decor and classy furniture, harnessing the exciting energy of all Brisbane has to offer. The guest rooms are no exception, with the hotel’s signature aesthetic carried through into a comfortable and exciting space for guests to stay. Topped off with panoramic views of the Brisbane River, a plethora of hotel amenities and impeccable customer service, the hotel is a destination in its own right.

While Polestar and W Brisbane certainly share a vision for progressive design, the partnership is not just about aesthetics. Both companies are making significant inroads in sustainable practices to continually create exceptional guest experiences, making the partnership a perfect match.

Through the Polestar collaboration, guests of W Brisbane are given access to exclusive activations and events, and can also enjoy local VIP transfers in the 100% electric Polestar 2 Long range Dual motor.

Speaking on the partnership, Jonathan Williams, Head of Marketing at Polestar Australia, said, “With customer experience at the heart of Polestar’s ethos, we are delighted to partner with W Brisbane. The partnership reflects our shared commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to our clientele."

W Brisbane also has a dedicated commitment to sustainable practises. Ingredients used in their restaurants are sourced locally where possible, and any food waste is composted on-site. Excess food is donated to food rescue charity OzHarvest, and the hotel has installed four electric vehicle fast-charging stations to support guests who have already transitioned to electric vehicles. These sustainability efforts all help the hotel move toward its goal of achieving a net-zero carbon footprint by 2050, under the Marriott International Serve 360 Program.

Haldon Philp, General Manager of W Brisbane commented, "We're thrilled to partner with Polestar, a beacon of innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry. This collaboration not only reflects our commitment to environmental stewardship but also enhances the guest experience, offering our patrons an exclusive opportunity to align their travels with sustainable values while enjoying the luxuries of our hotel."

For the modern traveller who values sustainable practises that don't compromise on luxurious comfort, Polestar at W Brisbane is a natural fit.
