You have a wide range of security and access options available in settings. You can choose to lock and unlock manually or automatically, depending on your selections in the centre display and the type of key you are using.
In most cases, the driver door controls locking and unlocking, using touch sensors in the door handle.
Manual and automatic locking
Manual locking is required when using a key card.
Automatic locking depends on distance-capable keys, as well as enabling automatic locking in settings. By default, the car is set to require manual locking.
Unresponsive unlock
If your car doesn't respond when you approach it with your distance-capable key, try unlocking it by pulling the door handle.
- The car has been turned off for several days and needs time to turn its systems back on, to recognise the key and to give you access.
- The key's wireless signals are being blocked.
- You're using a key fob that has a low battery or has entered battery saving mode.
If the car's batteries go completely flat, it will not respond to any key.
Unresponsive lock
If the car won't lock, check that all the doors are properly closed.
